Online book-places worth a look:

AddAll Probably the best used book search engine on the net... AddAll searches the databases of several large used and independent booksellers. I've been able to find amazingly rare and obscure stuff here.
Octavo - Digital Rare Books Greg came down one night, and dropped a couple of CDs from this company on my desk. They scan rare books (illuminated manuscripts, etc) and place them on CDs for viewing. Some books available include Shakespeare's first folio, Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, classical scientific treatises, and other neat stuff. They're a Bay Area company (Oakland), also.
