what is jesse's first rule of backpacking?

At night, always put you boots in a bag. It will keep the bugs out, and more importantly, keep them dry. I use a 20 gallon garbage bag that has built in draw strings at the top, just put the boots in, pull the strings close, twist the top of the bag, and put the end of the bag underneath. That when yoou wake up in the morning and everything else is soaking wet, the boots will still be dry.
