Is E.B. White of Strunk and White fame the same one who wrote Charlotte's Web?

I found myself pondering this and turned to Google for enlightenment. Yes, Elwyn Brooks White wrote Charlotte's Web, Stuart Little, and The Trumpet of the Swan, and also updated his former professor William Strunk's classic writing style guide. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E._B._White
