Step 1: Fill a large bowl with popcorn (popped), leaving enough room for tossing.

Step 2: Add 7 oz. of Nacho Cheese Doritos (half a bag) and 7 oz. of Cool Ranch Doritos.

Step 4: Garnish with peanut butter M&M croutons. Plain or Crispy M&M's can be substituted in case of nut allergy.


I have often been asked if popcorn salad can in fact be called a "salad".

The dictionary* defines salad as follows:

1. A dish of green herbs or vegatables, usually with chopped cold meat, fish, etc.
2. The course consisting of such a dish.

However, I have given it considerable thought and have come to the conclusion that since, for example, it is now commonplace to stick unidentifiable bits of dried fruit into jello and call it a "salad", that perhaps the traditional definition of salad is outdated.
