Lidovy= noviny has announced that it is "on-line" at and CTK, the= Czech News Agency, is "on-line" at . And just yesterday= [this is a beauty, folks] Mlady Svet announced a web page at . If any of you have web access and you check this address out,= you'll see that it consists of two circular links (i.e. the only page you= can access has two links which point back to the same page -- absolutely= brilliant work!) and no mention whatsoever of the magazine! Truly an= amazing effort to go "on-line" (I wouldn't be so harsh on them if they= hadn't announced it -- or let it slip to someone who did -- to a large= number of people reading Radio Prague's daily e-mail report.) Newspaper people out there, please note: having an e-mail address does NOT,= I repeat NOT, mean that you are "on-line". It means, simply, that you have= an e-mail address. (novel concept, eh?) If I see one more ad in a= newspaper (read Prague Post here -- many others guilty as well) claiming= that they are "on-line", and then proceed to list their sole e-mail= address, I will have a coniption (sp?) fit! Being "on-line" encompasses a= lot more than checking an e-mail box once a week, folks. We're talking a= whole new MEDIA / MEDIUM here. That's the same as a TV station saying it's= a newspaper because someone at the station reads one once a week. =20 [Mr. Hewes now bows his head and steps slowly from the soapbox....] Cheers, Cameron -- Cameron M.
