There are a number of teaching positions open at the American University of Bulgaria. If anyone is interested they can contact me or the e-mail number at the end of this message. Which brings me to another topic. A friend of mine who works at the AUBG office in Washington has informed me that they are graduating their first students this year (the university has been running for only three years). I asked her to write some things about it for anyone interested. Incidentally, this person was here in Hungary a couple of weeks ago recruiting students for AUBG. They are offering FREE scholarships to Hungarians wishing to study at AUBG. For more info and an application, contact the number at the end of this message ASAP. Bye for now, John :) ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Wed, 26 Apr 95 19:46 EST From: AUBG <0007304541@mcimail.com> To: John Horvath Subject: AUBG Graduation Hi John, i finally have the time to write this thingy. Since I don't really know what I'm doing, I hope this is what you had in mind. Here it goes. The American University in Bulgaria, the only American liberal arts college in Eastern Europe, is proud to announce the graduation of its first class May 7, 1995. Founded in 1991, AUBG works to prepare students for life in a quickly changing international world. This institutions is unique and fills the need for a far sighted, liberal arts education in a region that was isolated from the world for decades. English is the language of communication at AUBG and 13% of the student body comes from countries other than Bulgaria such as Romania, Albania, Poland, Moldova, and Macedonia. We strive to teach our students how Eastern Europe fits into the international community and how they can make a difference in this community. Many of our soon to be graduates have already received acceptances to top American graduate programs and jobs offers with multinational corporations working in Bulgaria. We are proud of the success of this institution so far and anticipate continued strong growth. Over the past four years, we have overcome serious odds and our students are remarkable for their vision and determination. If you have any questions about AUBG and its first commencement, please contact our US Office for Development.
