Personally, I just don't see Hungarians as passionate about TV as > Americans usually are, but I have noticed this spate of jokes about ads. > And I'm sure younger Magyars are growing up as TV saturated as US kids. I think no nation can be as preoccupied with TV as the Americans :->; you had a valid point there. I overstated my point a little, to compensate for something I felt to be over-general... The thrust of your argument ran like (I'm caricaturing! :) "Hungarians: dry, technical folks. Ain't never gonna use the Net as a medium, as a social device. Them geeks are into jobs and computers." I'd much rather you'd written "Hungary: very new Net. Very new concept, very out of reach financially. This ain't gonna favor mass reaction, pure preoccupation of a new medium with itself, or with old ones. No one's in that mindset anyway. The groundworks are being built: job, computers, cutting costs." Allow me, as the one responsible for the idea of villanynarancs, to be a tad too touchy about the subject anyway... :) > BTW who are these "journalistic, businessman types" that you're refering > to? Most journalists are about as far as you can get from the suit and tie > crowd as I could possibly imagine. I think I meant my comma to stand for an OR... After many, many lines of typing, I'm liable to start condensing text... Often that goes against interpretability, I know... Sorry.
