Robert, a long-time HOL lurker and managing director of Pronet, a soon to be ISP here, came up with the answer to my question about where to buy a portable power converter (by phone, which is why I repost here, in case anyone else is faced with a similar problem): Rigler Electronics 1052 Bp, Petofi Sandor u. 7 (one street back from Vaci u.) Tel: 118-5086; 266-8080 Till finding this place, it was a case of the kind of time you really need in Hngary but can only buy abroad. Rigler, however, had a few converters to choose from, including very low priced models (Ft 1,000) and, the kind I bought instead, complete with a ground but still portable, for Ft 6,000. Pricy, but we're talking about my beloved modem...
