Date: Thu June 29 Time: 7 pm or thereabouts Location: The Feszek Klub VII Kertesz utca 36 Tel: 122-6043 As I announced last week, I'm inviting any and all HOL readers in Budapest to get together Thu night this week for a little get together. As it turns out, there's even one more reason. Rick Bruner has just returned from Zagreb, where he was researching the Zamir network for an upcoming article in the UK version of _Wired_ magazine. Zamir means "for peace" in Serbian and Croatian and as well as Serbo-Croatian. The Zamir network has put hundreds online in Belgrade, Zagreb, Sarajevo and Kosovo. The network is a vital communications link for Balkan peace activists as well as refugees and families. You may know Rick Bruner as my alter ego here on hungary-online. When I run out of things to say I can usually count on Rick to liven things up. Rick also puts out the weekly hungary-report. It just happened Rick's in town this week. Soon he'll be off to Belgrade, Pristina and Skopje to round out the _Wired_ article. (And maybe even Albania - I forget.) And just to remind you, Strick will be there too. He's the personality that runs the HOL list and the hungary-report - completely for free - from his workstation in SF. He's been online for a l o n g time and earned a little fame (before the Internet boom) as the 'publisher' of the SurfPunk list. If we ask him really nicely, he may consider starting it up again. What is SurfPunk? Show up and find out. So I hope that's a little added incentive for you to mark Thursday on your calendars. There's quite a bit happening these days. This week my partners and I in iSYS Hungary move into our new offices. So I guess the first round is on me. See you there! =steve= --- Steven Carlson Net Media Manager iSYS Hungary ############# # This message to Hungary-Online@hungary.yak.net # was from carlson@odin.net (Steven Carlson) # # To unsubscribe, # send "unsubscribe" to # An announcement-only subscription (less volume) is available # at # Send mail to for more information, # or to if you need human assistance. #############
