I hope someone can translate this into Hungarian for me. I apologize greatly for my ignorance, but hope my lack of knowledge will not prevent Mrs. Kor from receiving the assistance she so desperately seeks. What follows is a plea from Eva Mozes Kor of Terre Haute, Indiana USA: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------- To Whom It May Concern: My name is Eva Mozes Kor. I, and my twin sister, Miriam, survived Auschwitz. I am asking you, the Hungarian people, the Hungarian Newspapers, Television, and the Hungarian government, and anyone who can - to helkp me find my sister ALIZ. She was born ALIZ MOZES, in 1932, in a small Transylvanian village called Portz/Ports. I last saw her on the selectin platform at Auschwitz-Birkenau, 51 years ago. She had blue/green eyes, curly black hair, she was a beautiful child. For all these years I thought she was dead. On July 21, 1995 I received a letter from the Red Cross that stated the following: "ALIZ MOZES WAS DELIVERED TO CONCENTRATION CAMP AUSCHWITZ ON MAY 21, 1944. SHE WAS TRANSFERRED ON 1 JULY 1944 TO CONCENTRATION CAMP BUCHENWALK/KOMMANDO GELSENKIRCHEN; WAS STILL IN CONCENTRATION CAMP BUCHENWALD/KOMMANDO SOMMERDA ON 17 OCTOBER 1944. SHE ARRIVED IN BUDAPEST FROM SOMMERDA ON 29 MAY 1945." Aliz survived the camps and I am very excited at the prospect that she might be alive. She might have the tattoo #A-12675. PLEASE - help me publicize this story in Hungarian newspapers and television, and help me impress the Hungarian governments to assist us. Let me know what I need to do to start publicity in locating my sister. Sincerely yours, Eva Mozes Kor P.S. Please translate into Hungarian because I don't know how to. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------- If anyone can assist Eva, please get back to me right away. I will immediately notify her of the contact. Please provide a telephone or fax number that she can respond to directly. She does not use the Internet much, which is why I am doing it for her. If, for some reason, you do not wish to immediately provide a telephone or fax number, I will gladly continue to deliver messages both ways. Thank you for any assistance you may be able to offer. My greatest wish is to see a reunion between these two sisters.
