I publish most of my essays in the US and Canada. One publication where I regularly submit material is a progressive magazine called "Toward Freedom", based in Vermont. For more information about it you can contact them at mavmedia@aol.com. As for the cold war thesis, my main purpose was to define and describe what the cold war was in Hungary from 1948-68. Against the backdrop of the superpower conflict, I examined the socio-political process of those years. My conclusion was that there were two main phases to the cold war: a "real" one in where the country was preparing for a possible conflict and a second one which was a "phony" one in where the communist party used the paradigm of the cold war to consolidate its power. The thesis is basically a historiographical survey. Thus, don't expect much action or any thrills while reading. The reason why it goes only until 1968 is because by that time, the paradigm for the cold war had been set, and so from 1968 onward there was no fundamental shift in cold war policy until the very end. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments about it or any of the other essays I post. It's good to know that there is someone out there who reads it.
