This opponent has overlooked that it is already illegal to say filthy four-letter words on the telephone in the US. This Exon ammendment changes the word 'telephone' in the existing law to be a broader range of telecommunication devices, extending the current gag on (constitutionally protected) indecent speech from the telephone to the internet. (It also ups the penalties significantly, although the numbers sited above are not exactly the same as I recall.) You can still say indecent things in print or in person. I believe it was Jim Warren of California that said that the really dispicable thing is not really the new ammendment, but the existing law. strick ############# # This message to Hungary-Online@hungary.yak.net # was from strick at Jihad # # To unsubscribe, # send "unsubscribe" to # An announcement-only subscription (less volume) is available # at # Send mail to for more information, # or to if you need human assistance. #############
