Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-Hungary-Online@hungary.yak.net Precedence: bulk Reply-To: Hungary-Online@hungary.yak.net I have to admit, I was not very hopeful but my faith in retributive justice in this country has increased a notch. As you know, I sent a message concerning Budapest Bank and it's cheque policy. I did not expect so much of a solution as much as condolences from other victims, from whom I received many replies. However, there was also a reply from a Peter Gervai from the Debrecen branch of Budapest Bank who provided me with the name and a number of someone who could possibly be of some help. Well, I called today and after half an hour, when I was instructed to call back, the matter was solved: the bank will sent its most humble apologies (by phone) promising never to do it again and said that the 25 dollars will be credited to my account! (Of course seeing is believing, and I will inform all readers when this statement has turned into fact). Not only would I like to thank all those who replied with advice and suggestions for alternative banks (which is still being considered, because I would like to get rid of my other account at OTP), but also Peter Gervai for his help. This just goes to show that with enough perserverence you can sometimes get wrongs righted in the end. Moreover, it shows that HOL is more than just a forum where to exchange views on certain topics; it's a place to go when all other avenues are exhausted. In case anyone else has had the same problem, you can call and get help from the following persons: Zsuzsa Lebedi or Ildiko Gazso (1) 267-4110 (I was recommended to talk to Ms Lebedi but she was not in; however, I talked to Ms Gazso who was able to straighten out my problem. Both are fluent in English, which makes things a lot easier) Ta Ta For Now, John :) ############# # This message to Hungary-Online@hungary.yak.net # was from John Horvath # # To unsubscribe, # send "unsubscribe" to # An announcement-only subscription (less volume) is available # at # Send mail to for more information, # or to if you need human assistance. #############
