| May play up in Div. 1 if peak rating in 2009 is
within 100 points, at director discretion to keep divisions
even. Anyone under 1600 may choose to play in Div. 2. |

| Players must be current National Scrabble® Association members. You
may join the NSA by adding $20 annual dues. $10 refund if payment received
before May 1, 2009 AND player arrives by 8:45 am on Sat. May 23rd |
| PREREGISTRATION: |
No entries will be accepted after Thursday May 21st. All players must
preregister. No Walk-ins will be accepted! |
| LUNCH: |
Lunch will be provided on Saturday. The PruneYard has many eating
establishments for your Sunday enjoyment. NOTE: No outside food or
beveridges may be brought into the hotel. |
| TRIVIA: |
Trivia competition will be held during the Saturday lunch. |
| DINNER: |
Sign up for the optional Sunday evening dinner at Bucca di Beppo in
the PruneYard. |
| PARTY: |
John Karris will be hosting a post-tournament party for all
participants at his home on Monday after the Awards Ceremony. |

| PAIRINGS: |
Mini RRs, followed by Fontes, and KOTH |
| PRIZES: |
Cash prizes will be awarded to a minimum of the top 3 finishers in
divisions 1 and 2. Additionally, a performance prize will be awarded in
divisions 1 and 2 (limit one prize per contestant). Division 3 will not
have cash prizes. Actual prize amounts will be determined based on the
number of entrants. The directors for this tournament are not paid, and
all after-expense funds are intended to be awarded as prize money. |
| LODGING: |
PruneYard Plaza Hotel has reserved rooms at $119
per night (double or single); Mention "Scrabble" to get the rate. Reserve

| LOCAL CHARM: |
The Pruneyard Shopping Center has a wide variety of restaurants, as
well as shopping. The revitalized downtown Campbell is nearby, and Los
Gatos and San Jose are a short drive away. |
| DIRECTIONS: |
Campbell is about 5 miles south of the San Jose International Airport,
and the Pruneyard Towers (located in the same Pruneyard Shopping Center as
the Pruneyard Inn) can be seen from at least a mile away. From the
airport, take I-880 South (toward Los Gatos/Santa Cruz), just past I-280
to the Hamilton Avenue exit. Turn left onto Hamilton Avenue. Turn right at
the third stoplight onto Bascom Avenue. Pruneyard Inn will be in the
Pruneyard Shopping Center on the second block on the right.
