This piece was inspired in part by a character from a roleplaying game who was enchanted and given wings of spiderwebs, and also by all those wonderful novels written during the Gothic revival of the 18th century. I've always been a sucker for long, dark cloisters lit by guttering torches, secret passageways hung with cobwebs, and ancient libraries filled with quaint and curious volumes of forgotten lore. The angel is the spirit of those dusty, closed-off recesses of the psyche.
